ACADEMICS

All students at Ka'ala participate in a rigorous, relevant, and standards-based curriculum that supports the achievement of the General Learner Outcomes, academic standards, and priorities identified in the Academic and Financial Plan.

 

Grade level pacing guides, teacher manuals, and regular walk-throughs ensure that all teachers are on pace, with equity of curriculum for all students.  During faculty meetings and PD days teachers also collaborate vertically to discuss skills and competencies necessary for success at each grade level.

 

Students with special needs are integrated into general education settings and taught common core curriculum based on their needs and grade level standards.

 

Ka`ala is working toward providing its students with a well-rounded curriculum and activities, with more attention to Career, Health, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
